Kalocsa, Foktő and its region will be among the winners of the Paks II. nuclear power plant investment thanks to the new Danube bridge and the newly inaugurated workers' hostel – said Péter Szijjártó at the inauguration of the Turbo Hostel in Foktő, Bács-Kiskun County. The foreign minister highlighted that the Paks project will attract tens of thousands of workers, who will also be accommodated in the 146-person workers' hostel built on the site of the former barracks, which was supported by the government with a 70% subsidy intensity of HUF 390 million. The minister added that the Paks II. project, which is the largest investment in the history of the Hungarian economy, will be implemented 8-10 kilometers from Foktő. The Paks-Kalocsa Danube bridge, which will be opened to traffic at the beginning of June, will connect the settlements on the left bank of the Danube to the project.

The minister also spoke at his forums in Kalocsa and Szekszárd that the Paks nuclear power plant investment will bring an economic boost to the entire region in terms of both infrastructure and jobs, and will also make it more attractive for investors in the future.
