New construction licenses in the Paks II. project
More than a hundred structures are needed to implement the nuclear power plant units to be built. In the area of the Construction and Erection Base, which will be nearly 100,000 square meters, the construction of the first three CEB buildings is nearing completion. In addition, the work area has already been handed over to begin construction of the concrete mixing plant facilities. Now the complex of anti-corrosion works has received the construction license from the Hungarian Atomic Energy Authority.
The complex consists of six structures: sandblasting and metal coating buildings, as well as painting workshops, a warehouse and a changing facility.
The sandblasting and metal coating workshop will provide surface treatment for steel structures, pipelines, welded joints and metal cladding. The 760-square-meter building of the painting workshop will be used for priming, painting and corrosion-resistant coating of steel structures.
The largest facility in the complex will be the open storage area of 7,560 square meters gross, which also includes the UXF 8.1.1 sandblasting and metal coating workshop and the UXF 8.1.3 painting workshop. Finishing work on the corrosion protection will be carried out here and the finished elements will be stored here, large metal structures will be inspected and technical inspections will be carried out.
Two more warehouses are under construction. One will be 320 square meters gross, where the solvents and paints will be stored. In the 240-square-meter warehouse, the incoming materials will be stored in their original factory packaging and containers.
The changing and service building with a gross floor area of 395 square meters will be built from mobile containers for the workers, engineers and technicians of the metal coating workshop and painting workshop.
The number of licenses obtained by Paks II. Ltd. so far will soon reach five hundred.
